Delaney & Kyu | Salt Lake City Engagement Session

Enagagements

Delaney and Kyu sat, holding hands, at the same spot where they had their first date together. Who could’ve guessed back then that they would return to this spot after all this time to take their engagement photos together?

We started the session at the Utah State Capitol, then moved on and explored downtown Salt Lake City. After walking around the block from the location of their first date, we found the most darling blue and yellow French bakery, Eva’s Bakery. It made for the sweetest background! We ended the downtown engagement session on a rooftop with the most glorious light. After getting to know this couple and their personalities, this cool, urban vibe was the perfect choice for these two!

Kyu is South Korean but came to the US when he was two years old. He and Delaney share a love of Korean culture. They met at Tae Kwon Do and bonded over Korean film and BTS. They have been through much together and have supported each other through some incredibly hard times. Now they are both black belts in Tae Kwon Do and are planning their wedding with their cute little dog, Chewie.

I have a bridal guide that I send to each of my clients. It’s a printed magazine, and it’s one of the biggest perks of becoming a KM Bride! Delaney mentioned that she was grateful for the engagement session section of the guide to help her coordinate the outfits, and even though she was an all-black and sweatshirt kind of girl, she tried to wear some lighter colors for one of the outfits because I recommended that would look the best with the downtown photos.

When I book my couples, I send out a guide with photos during different seasons of my favorite places for engagement sessions! It’s so easy to choose a place that’s exactly what you want. No need to research locations on your own; I’ve already done it all for you and organized it into a Utah Locations Guide.

Delaney and Kyu, spending the day with you was an absolute joy. It is not easy to go out of your comfort zone and dress up and pose in front of a camera. It was obvious that your love for each other made the process fun and comfortable. I loved sharing a love for the Korean culture with you both. Being half South Korean myself, I cannot wait for your traditional Korean wedding ceremony. All I can think about is that mini-doodle in a Hanbok. Your relationship is so special, and I cannot wait to celebrate and document it.
