I walked into the nursery and smiled. On the crib were the most darling “Where the Wild things Are” sheets. Hanging over the side of the crib was a quilt with characters from the book carefully embroidered. Bet you can’t guess where the inspiration for the name Max came from, right?! What a fun in home family session!

As it turns out, there aren’t many grandsons in this family. So baby boys? They are so, so loved. Toys, sheets, blankets, this sweet boy has his family wrapped around his finger! It seemed, however, that the most special gift that Max received was a beautiful blue afghan made by his grandma. I don’t know how many of you have ever tried to knit/crochet a blanket, but it takes. so. much. time. My blanket made by my grandma is one of my most prized possessions. Someday, I’m sure Max will feel the same way about his. What an incredible gift!

Madi & Coleman, where do I even begin?? You have the sweetest family. Watching you interact with Max made me remember those long newborn nights and maybe even miss it a little?? You are both natural born parents. The love you both have for each other is so apparent in the way you interact with each other. There were a couple moments where I would see Coleman looking over at Madi in awe. It was so sweet, so genuine. It was what every mother hopes her husband will see her as when she becomes a mother. And Madi. Oh my word. Every kiss, every hug, every snuggle, you lit up and just glowed.

Thank you, thank you for trusting me to capture this special time in your life. It goes by so fast! And it only happens this one time! It was an honor to document your lives as a family of THREE! Capturing young families is one of my favorite things to photograph. Everything is so new! And watching the pure joy and light that comes you both makes my smile every time. I hope that looking through these photos, you see that joy I saw in you as you were together!
