Emily is one of my dearest friends who I met in Nursing school. She is the best mom and has two beautiful little boys that are very active and like run and play! This year she wanted to capture some single mom family photos and we did a lot of exploring and games during this session, and I don't think that I stopped moving until we were finished with the session and the sun went down! I've taken these sweet boys photos almost every year of their lives, and each year, they get cuter and cuter! 

One of the reasons that I love photographing young families is because I love letting the toddler take the lead. Going to have a tantrum about sitting on shoulders? Okay, let's try something different! Loves playing ring around the rosie? Great! Let's do it multiple times! And then let's do some variations where you face outward, where you sing the song like an old lady, where you do it as slowly as possibly, etc. When we lean into what they want to do and let them feel like they have some control over how this session will go, they enjoy getting family photos!
